The view of Palace Square from under
an arched passageway was taken in
winter (notice the snow) whilst the kids
playing Zorro or some other masked
bandit or hero takes on a whole new
dimension when one notices the
Kalashnikov in the bottom righthand
corner.
The last face is a portrait of a
passer-by, and the man reminded me
in his beardyness and apparent
friendly demeanour of the man that
took the photograph, printed it on
photographic paper in a smelly
basement somewhere in this enormous
city, took it to his stall where the
product and its maker waited for me
and my dollars.
